Arts Week
November 14, 2022 – November 18, 2022
You’ve heard of book week and science week, but have you heard of Walden’s Arts Week! Nope? That’s because it never happened before!
For the week of November 14-18th, we will be doing school wide collaborations in Visual Arts, Music, and Dance, culminating in a performance-based assembly on Thursday. Each class will also have art prompts and arts integrated in their curriculum throughout the week.
Thursday’s outdoor assembly will be from 12:45p-1:15pm. Parents, please come join us!
Ways you can support at home: Put books about musicians, artists, productions, etc. out on common tables for your kids to read. Play new kinds of music in the car rides to and from school. Act out bedtime stories instead of just reading them. Take them to a play/concert/gallery! Make art with your child! Give them your phone and tell them to take three pictures that tell a short story. The possibilities are endless. Let us know if you need any more suggestions.
During the week, we will be presenting a special exhibit on artists in our community! Are you an artist? Send Ruth a photo of you and your art, and a line about what you do! (So we can caption it!)
